    Default VZ L98 6 speed box behind a 304?

hey yall, i just bought a 6 speed for a fairly decent price (was just gonna sell it or put it in my dads grange) but a day later i blew 3rd in my senator. so atm im looking at getting it installed..does anyone happen to know whats involved(ive done a few manual conversions) all i need to know is that will the fly wheel and clutch bolt up and is the tail shaft the same as t5s or 4l60e's apparently i need an adapter plate???but i donno what or where to get one and finally will i be able to leave it hydro or convert it to cable clutch?

atm im just seeing my options its either 6 speed + a cam or reco 5 speed with a cam and twin throttles... any help would be awesome!

If ur Senator is manual then you will need T56 computer. Only real difference between T5 and T56 is the box themselves (one being 5speed and the other 6speed) and computer.

contact mal wood. he'll have everythign you need. the ecu will be fine as is. the boxes are completly different. malwood does do a adaptor bracket that can convert to a cable setup for the clutch.

Stealthy should give you the full details if he sees this thread.

yeah dont see any reason why you need a different ecu. t56 computer? never heard of them.

clutches are completely different. one should be cable, other is hydraulic

Give him a few weeks to respond. Sometimes he gets more work than he can handle, but he will reply. Took him 2 weeks to reply to me, but was worth the wait, had all the info i needed, and he was paid not long after!

Maybe tune? I asked about differences between the Getrag and T5 ECU, and was told that the differences would be in the tune, i.e. the ratio's (?) about which they based their fuel figures etc... on.

my car is already set up for manual, so i doubt it will be much harder to wire the t56 up. He got back to me this morning....im pretty sure he wants to swap my old t5 for the parts needed to fit my t56 in. all i think i gotta buy is a clutch so if thats the case ill have t56 pretty soon ^_^
