Well from a rolling start a ecotec is alot faster than the early motor can be even as fast as a 5 litre sometimes, it's just not as fast out of the hole because it doesn't have the low end torque, you can't have everything with a motor(unless you twincharge it as Luke remembers to correct me everytime I say that)

The blower you speak of is called the SC14. There are a few members who have done this conversion, have a look around for their cars and see if they have mentioned power ratings. Alternatively, there is a thread about the SC14 in the V6 development section.
IRS or live axle? A/C or no A/C? Is there any electrical load on the system?
You seem pretty sure of that number.
