buy a second hand eurovox unit from a wreckers or eBay. (shouldn't cost more than $50?)
I've never heard of anyone replacing the lights in the HU, as most people upgrade to a new stereo.

If you do that, make sure you get the security code otherwise it will only be good as a door stop.

I've replaced bulbs on other radios from Fords etc and found I had to separate the front panel from the main radio chassis - done by a few screws and wiring connectors...the actual bulbs will be tiny, about the size of a matchhead and be soldered onto the front panel/circuit board. It is do-able if you are prepared to take the time and trouble. If you do try it make sure you take digital pix for re-assembly.
Another stereo from a Calais may also have the same problem. Jaycar should have bulbs although I scavenged mine from other old radios which had the digital fronts. Good Luck.

if i was you i would prob try to find a second hand one and pull that apart first and pinch the globes from that, that way you can get an idea on how to pull it apart first without having to worry about breaking your original on

Yeah I replaced the one in the display in my Eurovox. It blew when i had a dodgy brake globe and the parkers kept flashing on and off every time a touched the brakes.
Anyway, what i did and recommend you consider is replaced it with a green LED ( and suitable resistor in series to drop the voltage ). The mini 12V globe as per original are very hard to find which is another reason to go LED. The raido is easy to pull apart once you get it out of the dash.

ok so I have pulled and tugged at the knobs on the radio and still cant get them off. Do I need a special tool or something or are they glued on? Because I dont want to break, scratch the front of the facia. Any advice I would be greatful for.

Can't remember but i reckon you just pull them off. Unless a previous owner has glued them ?

ok took a while some screw drivers and mighty grips but they are off and nothing is damaged thank goodness. Will post up a pic of what it looks like for those interested now just to find a good electronics place to fix the little lights!
