how much would it cost to bore out a vr commodore

i dunno but i suspect shitloads as youd have too replace alot of internals aswell and possibly get a custom tune?

pretty sure you can get a stroker kit that raises the capacity to 4.2Lt...

you can stroke an ecotec to 4.2l (not sure about buicks). not worth the cost though

buy a 5 litre for less then you can have that kinda work done, plus 5 litre will be cheaper to mod

depends how much money you want to spend... if you don't have much just chuck a 5ltr in and be happy (it'll kick the shit out of a 4.2l stroker). otherwise, buy a 5ltr and stroke that to 355.

to get a 5ltr in your car, everything working, $2000 max
to get a 355 in your car, everything working, roughly ~$10,000

the T5 from a ford wont go in unless you have the the correct input shaft, the correct input shaft will need to be taken from a t5 from a holden, you will also need the bellhousing and I think the eights run the T56, in short dont stuff around with random parts buy a whole manual conversion.

th 5 litre ran a T5(5 speed), im pretty sure the LS engines runs the T56(6 speed). there was a thread around here about adapting a T56 to fit a 5 litre.

not enough too warrant buying one over your current car if thats the only reason , unless you mean a v8.
i test drove a vx when i owned a vn and the power wasnt much better at all, just alot smoother.

Im not up to date with your p plate laws over there but the way it sounds, isnt a V8 illegal for you or anything over 200kw including a turbo or supercharger?

Do the cam and heads. Just don't go too crazy on the cam or the cops will hear it.
