    Question stripped rear shock thread.....help!

after installing a set of rear ultra lows today i noticed after taking the passenger side shock off the bottom thread that it was mostly stripped, after having a good look at it i couldnt see any easy way of replaceing it.

does anyone know how i would go about changing this thread over?, does it have to be cut off and re-welded?

You could probably recut the thread using the right sized die....or like you say, cut the damaged thread off and reweld a stub with the correct thread on it. I'd guess that the nut/washer only prevents the shock from moving sideways so there should not be a great pressure on it although you wouldn't want it coming off at the wrong moment!

You could try using a bolt and nut. The thread goes all the way through doesn't it?
