    Default More Illumination Problems...

    Hey again,

I just installed BLUE LEDs into the Speedo, Fuel Meter etc.. (i replaced the clear ones which worked fine I just prefer blue lol :P). But I have ran into a problem, none of the lights work now. I have switched them 180 to make sure it wasn't the polarity and now even the clear ones don't work when I put them back in.

What could be causing this? I've got the 3 plugs that are behind the dash plugged back in as well as the light control one. So I'm stumped as to what it could be...

You need to spin them around, polarity only goes one way with LEDs

Also bend the little contact wires out a bit. If they are too flat against the LED housing plastic, they wont connect.

but knight_vs it should be your no. 16 fuse witch is a 5A fuse, that will make your dash lights work.

well it could be the globe, what new globe are you using mine worked fine once that fuse was replaced i havnt put the new globes in cluster yet as im not to sure what i need to disconnect from the back of the cluster ( how many plugs ect. ) any help would be much appreciated also still puzzled with the three buttons above cd player the wedge globes dont seem to fit in properly does anyone know which fuse is relevant to these 3 buttons

Once you get the cluster out, look at the back, there is 4 twist in sockets (3 on the L3 cluster) you cant miss them. Twist them out, replace the globe and put it back in.

The 3 buttons take T3 Neo-wedge globes. They would run off the same fuse as the rest of the dash lights.

to do it in my stato all i had to do is take the two screws out from under the facia. (above the speedo)

then pull the light knob off, then there will be the intereior light dimmer just pull that off too, then the facia should come out with a bit of fiddling as its clipped in also

then un plug all your lights/demister/security switch/ hazzards

then there are 2 screws holding the whole cluster in.the cluster will come straight out. and there should be 3 plugs they will come out with out any trouble because they stay in the one spot. and cluster will slide back into the plugs
