performance tweaking and tuning tips??

i have a hsv manta and want to no if by playing with the ildling or the timing would adjust performance or power to my car it has a stage 1 chip and extractors but otherwise its a pretty standard engine ... any suggestions other than a dyno tune

what do you mean by stage one chip? has it been modified? Playing with the idling is going to get you nothing in the way of performance, but changing the timing will. If you've modified the chip though, I wouldnt change the timing unless you know what you're doing.
