hey guys i have heard around that upgrading your spark plugs and leads can improve the performance, is this true and if so any ideas on what i should get, i got a 99 vs 5litre which has the vt 5litre motor and transmission if that makes any difference.
cheers..
apperently leads do a good job my car was rough as buggery checked for vaccume leaks cleaned throttle body 02 sensors replaced still rough
Turnes out to be the leads
so yes for sure they help alot replacing them
Unless the old ones were giving trouble you will not notice much difference at all (my opinion). However, it's good sense to replace plugs and leads every few years and buy the best you can afford.
ah ok i had my spark plugs replaced not long ago so they should be fine, if price isnt an issue whats the best leads to get??
Unless you are on gas I'd just go by what the salesperson says, but if on gas you need a certain type. You will get 100 different bits of advice from here on lead brands....I reckon they are all much the same.
i got genuine plugs and leads from holden for my vp s2 , runs better ,smoother , and a bit more grunt, go genuine dude!!!!, and some of the stuff is cheaper than aftermarket
topgun - pro raceing 8.8 mm leads , MSD coil packs , bosch supre sries spark plugs thats the go
therese no point replacing part of the ignition system cos the rest wont be able to keep up with and u wont see much of an improve ment unless u do the whole system
