just wondering because thats what it sits at at around 220kph in 4th ( tested it on an isolated country road this arvo) ...seems quite comfy at that speed , just wouldnt want too blow a piston or anything.
dont you mean you tested it on a private road..!!! ;-)
It would really help in these situations if people just answered the op's question instead of going on about the legal side of things as i am sure most op's know what they are.
On the question note, i dont see why that would be a problem, of course there will be more stress on the engine and components along with fuel use but these engines are obviously made for that or else that wouldn't have that top speed with those revs. As long as you weren't going to go around Australia at those rev's and that speed i dont see a huge problem. A good oil change after any extended period like that would be nice though.
no thats the first time ive done that, i usually am never over 110 - 115 on country roads.
i actually backed off at about 210 because it was worrying watching the needle creep slowly up towards the redline.
wouldnt be the engine id be worried about at those speeds....
id be more worried about tyre ratings etc.
in before lock![]()
ah... there are just no words.
I will say though, if the only time you're at 4.5-5000 revs is when youre doing 220ks... it wont happen again, so no need to worry about it. Unless youre planning on doing it again, in which case I would agree with what was said above - the engine would be the least of your problems.
Isnt there a thread going around about people not having common sense or something along those lines?![]()

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
+1 about tyres and oil changes...
