hey got a 95 vs auto and in neutral and park it idles round 1500 and sumtimes will go up tp 2500rpm. what could be the cuases of this?
Check that the connector to the IAC valve hasn't come off.
I'd check for any error codes first.Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)See if anything shows up.
The IAC valve can be come clogged with carbon also. It's located on the side of the throttle body, whip it of and spray with a carby cleaner to lush it out.
Also check for a air leak on the air intake area, from the air cleaner back to the engine.Spray ny suspect areas with carby cleaner and if a leak the revs will change,as the cleaner burns.

Most times I see this it turns out to be the throttle cable that is sticking - either kinked or frayed. Sometimes a good soaking in WD40 will fix it.
I had this same problem years ago in a previous VS. I checked for error codes and I showed up a faulty 'Throttle Position Sensor' which is attached to the throttle body. Replaced that and was fixed.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
