Hey guys,
I just finished putting all my instrument cluster back together because I was changing all the globes to blue LED's but have ran into a problem.
The speedo/cluster is back in and the surround all sits back in but the 2 screws on the top of the surround is where I run into trouble. The holes don't line up I can't seem to get the cluster to line up with the holes.
Anybody know the proper way to get it back in? I'll take some pics if that helps
Hi.
Make sure you have pushed the little clips in properly all the way round the edge of the surround... (you should hear them click in) might pay to take it back out first and make sure there aren't any cables catching behind it and pushing it out of place (speed alert cable comes to mind). With the two screws up top... they actually go in at a slight angle on mine so maybe try pointing them so they go in slightly forwards and up... you should be able to feel when they go into the hole... and don't over tighten them when you put them back in or you'll strip the holder out that sits behind it.
Hope this helps![]()
Hey mate, cheers for quick reply.
I will try that in the morning and take some pics as well, its a VR so doesn't come with speed alert so not sure what other cables it could be.
Are these 3 screws circled in red meant to be in front or behind of the strip if that makes sense?

they should be on the outside as they secure that piece of plastic.
Those two screws you mention can be a tad tricky at first, they do go in on a slight angle.
Ok.
Are the 3 plugs for the cluster meant to be secured anywhere or just free so you can pull them when you connect them back up to the cluster?
the three plugs at the rear should snap into thier housing at the back of the dash, then you can slip the cluster in.
aaaahhhh wait those three screws, you mean how far in should the bottom of the cluster sit? well it should be right in there mate.
I see, I will take another look and take some more pics and get back to ya. Thanks heaps man
Cheers mate, ended up getting it all back in. Thanks for all ya help!!
