vs 1st gear auto question

just wondering if there is a way to hold 1st gear in the autos on the v8s. i hate doing a burnout or something and it clicks into second and dies. i want to change this so bad

You will need to put a shift kit in your auto. I think you will need a stage 3 for manual shifting, or some stage 2 kits say it will hold in gear as well.

The 4L60 (VN VP) autos can hold 1st gear all day, its just the electronic 4L60E (VR VS) that change to 2nd.
