Just after some help with what tyres to get I know there are heaps of thread on tyres but theres too many mixed reviews in all of them
im deciding between
these toyo teo plus tyres
Teo Plus
these sumitomo ones
HTR ZIII - Sumitomo's flagship tyre providing unrivalled performance, safety and comfort
or these kumho ones
pcr ku37
any other suggestions for a quiet , good wearing (but not cheap) , and all round good tyres ( Size 235/40-18 ) tyre would be great
Cheers Jiz
My pick would be the Sumitomo's....have a read of this > A New Name Challenges the Max Performance Summer Category
oh sweet but are they like a just summer tyre or are they just better when driving in the summer heat??
...no..no no... don't worry about that..
In the US in certain states they have snow for 6 months a year and everyone has to have two sets of tyres - winter & summer. To put it into perspective, winter tyres are only sold in Australia to companies who's vehicles operate in the ski resorts. Every tyre available in your regular tyre store is a "summer" tyre but because we don't get the extreme winters that they have in the US & canada we just refer to them as tyres...
ohhhh true cheers mate
whatever you do dont go with with toyo.
Horrible tyre
Dont believe him. I went from Dunlop SP3000 to Toyo Teo Plus and I have to say they are fantastic!! Quiet, Great corner grip and excellent wear, alot bett than the DUnlops, so Toyo get my vote...
Dont over analyze the whole tyre thing, just buy what you can afford. ( within reason)

but dunlops are rubbish, i had a simliar tyre and its was the same just rubbish. my maxxis are hundred percent better then the dunlops
Maxxis, Those cheap crappy imported rubbish that wear out in about 20,000km, I can get them for $100.00 each brand new, they are not even worth half of that!!
VS6... If you ask 10 x different people what to get you will get 10 x different answers...
My advice though, stay away from the rubbish iimports, they are cheap because you are getting what you pay for...cheap shit tyres....
Dunlop Crap, yep..right. V8 Supercars, BTCC, F1 & Le mans series all use rubbish tyres??? I think not???

I don't think he was talking about 'R' compound race tyres mate... Don't be fooled into thinking that the dunlop you are buying is made anywhere near the standard as those used in the races you listed above...
Dunlop race tyres are brilliant.
Dunlop Road tyres are fine but I have seen a lot with manufacturing defects.
so the sumitomo's being american would be good then or?
i really dunno what to go for haha
Sumitomos are Japanese and are a brilliant tyre. (Falken are made by Sumitomo too)
Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the HTR ZIII. Great Tyre
Dunlop Tyres is a British company owned 75% by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and 25% by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, which sells Dunlop branded road tyres in succession to the Dunlop Rubber Company.
In 1985, Dunlop Rubber was taken over by BTR plc, and Sumitomo acquired the rights to manufacture and market Dunlop branded road tyres. Sumitomo did not acquire any Dunlop company. In 1997 Sumitomo gained agreement to use the Dunlop name in its corporate name, and changed the name of its UK subsidiary to Dunlop Tyres Ltd

Nice find...I'm not sure if you creatively edited your post or if we are looking at a different page but it seems a part is missing....
...The acquisition did not include the US and Australian businesses, which were separately owned, but in 1986 Sumitomo also acquired the Dunlop Tire Corporation of the US from its management[1]....
All Sumitomo branded tyres delivered to Australia are made in Japan.
Not all Dunlop branded tyres delivered to Australia are made in Japan, which might go someway to explaining my previous post re Dunlop.
