Default Painted Dash "not Tacky" Ideas?

    Sup fellaaaaaasssss

Alright, Getting the redwalls done tomorrow as some of you may know from my earlier topic, I've seen a few people paint there dashes, Some look good, Some look bloody weird with a very very bright blue or what ever... I was just wondering, Most of the people in here who don't like painting their dashes don't mind it if it's in a darker colour, and match the car more.

That's the colour of my car, Old pic, a lots changed since that pic.

And this is the colour of my dash

Do you think if i painted the face guage plastic part the same colour as my car " i can get the paint from super cheap" it would look good being a darker colour, that matches the seat covers and everything? I don't like light colours much, makes a car look tacky sometimes.

I've seen interiors color coded to the car paint colour and it looks pretty tacky IMO. This is out of a few street commodore mag's I saw a while back. some bloke painted his VY ute interior sting red like the outside and it was friggen crap, not just because of the way he did it, it just looks dodgy.

Thanks Vee, It took a while for someone too reply so i just went ahead and did it, It look's dark so it doesnt stand out a lot, And it kinda matches the colour of the car, the seat covers, and a few other things I've coded in there, I'll post pics up tomorrow in my car thread, I still need too update that page with what's new.

well i don't like light color dashes, in my opinion better to go for the dark colors
also it should not be light, bright or glossy because it disturbs driver's eyes specially at night because of reflecting light to his eyes

+1. Stock dash in mint condition looks better than ANYthing else you could possibly do to it.

I saw a guy on proutes i believe who painted the interior of his VR black, like everything dash pad, dash surrounds, door pads etc and then re carpeted with black. I must say it looked absolutely mint! Having said that dont go out and buy a can of black spray paint to do it! He used a vinyl die paint so there will be no cracking etc when the dash moves.

In the end its your choice as its your car and you drive it, but i wouldnt go any color rather than black.

    Hope that helps.
