    Question Limited Edition SS VS III Ute VIN??

    Lads and Ladies,

    I have a VIN Number here that I have checked against all the threads with no success

    6H8VSK80UYL528266 - The part that i'm not sure about is the UYL, I'm lead to believe that this VIN belongs to one of the VS SS III special edition utes? Is this correct?

    Thanks for your wisdom Lads.

    The built plate will have the model code to say if it's an SS or not.

    The U is = V8 engine
    Y = model year
    L = Adelaide plant.

    I know barely enough to get by, but I've never seen a series 3 VS V8, they've all been V6's and I was looking for a ute for quite a while. so it has to be at least that rare. Also, does it have a 5.0L Aussie V8 or a 5.7L chev?

    My m8 has a SIII V8 5 Speed Ute and they are not rare cause theres heaps floating around and all the VS's were the Aussie V8 5.0i m8.

    Nearly certain they didn't release any VS SS utes however there were several equipment and dealer packs around at the time to keep them moving till the VU was released. (First ute offered as a "SS").

    That's not to say there weren't any V8 VS utes - they just carried the "S" badge. Some of the series II and III versions wound up with the VT roller 5 litre.

    I dont believe what im hearing, the first SS Ute was the Holden VS SIII SS Ute with the 5.0i and if you were lucky enough a 5 speed. Now these are rare.

    Nar got me all wrong - I believe they exist no problem at all - just interested in what code they have - is it the same as for all the SS's of the time with A9F or A9G.

    My dad just bought a VS SS Series 3 Ute, Auto, 5.0L V8. Its all completely original with 168,000kms. It has the VT style SS badges, steering wheel, alloy wheels, and VS seats with the VT SS logo. His nephew has owned it from new as he works at Holden. I have not seen another one like it to be honest.
