Hey all, I have a VSII Berlina with the L3 dash, so my speed alert module is displayed in the left-most window in the instrument cluster instead. The speed alert module has 4 buttons;; Mode, Set, Up and Down.
I know that to enable the digital speedo in the speed alert window you only have to hold down Set while turning the ignition on, but that is only temporary. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make it a permanent thing, like you can with the other speed alert modules?
For what, temporary or permanent?
I thought it was Set and Mode for temp, that does work, but Mode is irrelevant. I tried it this arvo and you only need to hold Set.
according to:
holden vs eletronic speedo
for the 4 button versions you hold all 4 buttons? dont quote me on reliability of this information, I dont have a 4 button one and cant tell you.
also, to quote the same thread:
"Although temporary digital speedo readout works on all cars, permanent speedo will only work on some, not others... i cant get mine permanent"
I've read somewhere that you may need to get it flashed in order to get it to stay permenant if it wont by holding buttons down.
Yeah, but that reply seems to be for the temporary fix.
That being said, mine could be one of the dodgy ones. Won't be able to draw that conclusion until I'm certain of how you turn it on permanently though heh.
Thanks for your help
For anyone who needs more detail than my crappy description, this is the module in my car, the trip computer:
I've not found a method of making it stay in diag mode (digital speedo) as yet.

Maybe you can answer a related question though, it alters the other windows/modes to show instantaneous fuel consumption, voltage, what is the other one? It says "fuel 2: XX" where X are numbers. Any ideas?
How bad news? >.> I vaguely recall mine showing around 5...
I just checked it... Fuel 1 is sitting on 3.0, Fuel 2 is sitting on 5.4 >.>
What does this mean for me?![]()
ooow - I had better check mine again. (high usage at idle = poor economy I think)
I have the page scanned some place on how to read the diag mode.
