    Default heater stuck on?

My car always seems to be blowing warm air into the cabin. But when i turn it to heater it gets EVEN HOTTER. to the point where i cant hold the back of my hand to the vent cause it burns. So cause of this my A/C is useless cause its fighting with already warmed up air and only gets a little cold, even on cold days its blowing warm air so somethings a miss.

    cheers fellas

Heater tap stuck on? Try cable tying the control arm on it under the bonnet and see if it makes a difference.

The air mix door can be stuck open or more probably the adjuster is not set correctly.

Down by the drivers foot rest there is the rod that connects to teh air mix flap. Take the rod out and make sure the flap is hard over forwards (I think) and then set the knob to cold and then snap the rod back into the adjuster clip. This should set the flap correctly. Then just check that the flap moves from 1 side to the other when changing the knob from hot to cold.

You get the idea tho - if this flap is a little open then it will let the hot air into the system.

Or it's the heater tap stuck open. Check the vac lines.

I'd go with what 88GreenVN says and add that make sure the flap thingo described above depresses a small black plastic button (this is the vacuum on/off switch) when in the fully cold position. Also you may find the clip is busted as it's plastic. Or you can cable tie the heater tap shut.

The heater tap control arm is pushed into the heater tap itself, thats when its closed.

i posted in another thread a couple weeks ago with pics and instructions on how to adjust the temp adjustment knob and flap control behind the center console. 99% certain that you have the same issue. as described by hako and 88greenVN

climate control is completely different. it uses a vacuum module under the dash to control everything. check the climate control thread stickied at the top of this section for info

that little valve actually has to be working for this fix to work. Mine wasnt. Push button down = heater tap still on.

is there vacuum at the valve? check the hose going to the heater tap, may be kinked/broken or sqwashed? maybe a stuck heater tap
