Hey guys,
Got a 1993 VR Executive, and since we bought it the cruise control has never worked (we knew this) but I'm looking at getting it fixed shortly.
Does anyone know what sort of stuff I should be looking for?

I have the same sorta problem. It turns on but wont set to a speed. I heard it could be a wire in the stalk that has broken.
I think wombles is on the money, the wires in the stalk often break from fatigue as they bend up and down every time you indicate. If you remove the stalk you can open it and check the wires ... or just replace it for about $80
Alright once I get it out of the shed, ill test it out again and check over those things.
If it is a wire in the stalk, how would I go about checking and replacing it?
How do I make sure it is the wires before I fork out $80 to replace it?
If the blinker switch itself is ok,and its just a broken wire for the cruise control, just solder the broken wires back together and cover the join with some heat shrink tubing, too easy.(You can get heatshrink tubing at dick smith etc, excellent stuff, its cheap and its better than using electrical tape to cover joined wires.)
Mate check your fuses aswell and suss out the relay if it has one.
Like 88GreenVN said have a look at the brake switches theres 2 of them, getting them adjusted correctly can be tricky.
Theres also afew threads on here reguarding cruise control it may pay to check them out too.
Usually the first and easiest thing to check is if any of the brake lights are blown. From what I've read this seems to be the most common cause.
