Default Speedo signal wire for speedo corrector

I'm putting a speedo corrector into my car, and before I go chopping wires I want to see where other have tapped into the speedo wire.

The wiring diagram I have says its a Purple/White wire, but I'm unsure if I've found the right one. There is a plug that plugs in underneath the cluster, is this the one that has the speedo wire (it has a purple/white wire in it). When I unplugged it the fuel gauge still worked which make me think it might not be the right one.

There are some plugs at the back of the cluster which slip in when you push the cluster back, is it located on one of those?
