Probably still could of just used all the info from searches, i believe most people end up going for 3.45's, 3.7's or 3.9's depending on highway use etc. I reckon for the V8 3.45's would be plenty.

5 speed manuals benefit from 3.45s and 3.7s. 3.9s make the gears too short to be much use to anyone, and probably pretty frustrating eventually too.

i got 3.9's in mine with a getrag box and i love it. lots more punch down low and if your doing mainly suburb/city driving they use less fuel. im sitting at about 2,600rpm at 100 up from 2100 with the original gears

for any T5 equiped commodore which has a 0.72:1 5th gear OD ratio or auto with 0.70:1 OD. on the other hand the getrag only has 0.81:1 5th gear OD ratio so would cruise at a higher rpm for the same road speed.

i sit on 2600ish at 100 with 3.9's and i have the getrag and it increased my fuel mileage and i do a fair bit of highway driving. gets about 450-500km pretty easy. i would go 3.9's, you wont regret it!!

How to: Source your own diff gears and remove them yourself
