yeah guys i just wanted to get ome ideas of cars with a non standard cam n what grinds you have im looking at around 200 kw at the treads but i want to get 125 kw n/a then i will go s/charger but i need some ideas on cam grinds im clueless any help?????????
You probably already have 125rwkw stock at the moment. Have you had it dyno'd at all?
na i havent but i was tol vs v6's had 100 rear wheel kw at the wheels stock so yeah but any help with cam grinds at all
i think theyre a bit lower than that stock, the ecotecs are 150kw at the flywheel.
(lower than 125rw i was refering too, i think theyre about 105 -110.)
ok then does anyone have a non standard cam in the ecotec if so price, brand and grind
have you done any other mods yet? ( i dont know anything about cams so sorry i cant answer that )
na no engine mods just body suspension and stereo mods besides a cam what are some other good mods for the motor besides a cai
first a memcal from delcowizzid , then extractors and a 2.5 inch catback exhaust and maybe a shift kit.
yeah i have a exhaust i 4got to mention that pacemaker extractors and 2.5 inch redback cat back exhaust and wha does a memcal acturally do and im installing a shift kit this weekend
memcal is a retune of the standard factory chip , the one i got makes it accelerate faster, change gears a bit better and will change them higher in the rev range if im flooring it
sweet sounds good how much did that set you back
i worked something out with delcowizzid , youll have too ask him what his prices are.
A VS won't make near 110kw stock at the rears. Stock you would be pushing for 100kw, I have dyno sheet as proof.
Mine makes 101kw at the rears with 2.5' Hm Headers, 2.5' Redback exhaust, CAI and Foamy Tune.
Also had a Stage 3 TCI Internaled gearbox built worth about $3000.

There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
101 kw is way low for the amount of work you have done te du=yno speed calibration must have been out is your engine majorly tired
Wait, so you want a cam, then a supercharger afterwards? You get a cam for how you're motor is setup, so do that after you have fitted a charger. If you want some cheap performance to hold you threw, Pm Delcowizzid about a tune.
R.I.P dynoryder
Take this guys advice. The cam you buy for your motor now may not be suitable for supercharged purposes. Conversely, the cam you buy for the super setup may not be suitable for the N/A setup.
Check this out though - Gilbs' custom VS
By mean dyno, you mean right. I know this dyno is correct, Dad's Good friend, Used to do the easternats etc.
engines could be tired but i'm not going to bother pulling it apart, i'll blow it up before i mod the engine, the v6's arn't worth the internal mods like cams etc. cause either way you're still going to be making poo power at a really expensive price.
Unless you love the ecotecs with a passion ya wouldnt piss on one for a performance thing.

This cam ..... Wade 982A1365A
That's a very good cam for a NA V6, pretty big but if you want to go fast that's the one you want. You can reach 130rwkw with tune and exhaust only (many people have). Not ever car is up for it but alot do
You should be able to go 150+ with that cam and exhaust/tune and nothing else. But you probably want a little high stall or a manual box
I'm doing the same thing OP, but staying N/A because i'm on P's (provisional and poor). I'm interested what power i'd be making with a full rebuild, block rebored, flat top pistons making 10:1 comp, largish cam, ported heads 1:1.6 roller rockers. Personally i'd be cheering with 150kw but really i'm after a reliable yet fun engine.
man dont rebuild the motor till just as ur puttin the blower on,or at the same time.
supercharged engines require higher piston clearance
First i've head of that. They require lower compression ratio if that's what you mean?
