Default Engine light likes to come on... sometimes

I was driving today and after about 10min of driving my engine light came on. I got to my destination about another 10min later with the car just being normal. When i went to leave to come back on i turned the car on and no engine light. Sure enough though about 15min later it comes back on again after driving. Did an error check when i got home and got a code 12, maybe my code 12 means un-normal?

    any ideas?

my theory is my car does not like revving for long periods of time, thats partially my fault since i installed 3.9's

Code 12 means normal mate, and it will repeat it self 3 times before it goes on to any "un-normal" codes.

Test it again and let it run through the code 12 3 times and see if it come sup with anything else.

Replace the TPS.I'm not sure they can be fixed. You could try pulling it off and see if theres any gunk built up around in it etc,and try giving it a clean up.Im pretty sure though that these are just a "throw-away and replace" item.

Internally, TPS are just a series of small switches which let the ECU know if youre at idle, full throttle or backing off. When I opened up my Daihatsu Feroza's TPS, the contacts were very thin (1-2mm max) and I could see them becoming jammed if one ever bent/fatigued.

Luckily ours are Bosch, common and easily changed over should replacement be needed.
