Hey guys,
My VR has done 189,000 k's but I broke the cluster (well im pretty sure its broken I cant be bothered paying for it to get fixed when I have a spare cluster I can use) but the spare cluster has 208,000 on it.
Is there a way I can wind it back to 189,000?
Yep take it to a gauge repair shop be heaps of them in the phone book
Float like an elephant sting like a tree clubsport hits what doug does'nt see
Yeah but I don't live in any cities mate so I was gonna try do it myself if possible?
ermmm, what part of your cluster did you break? might be possible to swap some bits over and around.
The odometer man, but I swapped it over and I think it works now, ill take it for a drive tomorrow and let ya know.
Thanks anyway guys.

Have you seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" ??![]()
The movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"
They try to wind back the odometer.
I wound back my L2 to suit my car. Theres probably an easier way, but I stripped the cluster and pushed out the pin that all the numbered wheels sit on, then re-assembled them in the order I wanted. The pin can be a tight little sucker. I 'pressed' it out by using a small screw to screw into the hole it sits in.
Okay, can you take a pic of the 'pin' for me?Your talking about the thing that has the round teeth sorta thing on each number?
Sorry dont have a pic. Did it a fair few months ago. And sorry I actually removed the pin that holds the little gears above the numbered wheels in place so that the wheels can turn freely. See, been that long I forgot already![]()
So you can grab which ever bit of the odometer you like and spin it freely? I'll definately have to try that lol.
