is there like heavy black smoke coming out the tail pipe?

Next to check pull the plastic engine cover off and check for leaks around the fuel rails and injectors.

well the fuel has to go somewhere it's either leaking or using it, youve confirmed it's not leaking anywhere and the fuel pressure is good, if it's burning that much fuel it would have to be blowing black soot out the back pretty badly. 38Litres per 100km is well over the useually average of 10Litres per 100km, is the car running and idling fine?

Didn`t you just put in a new diff ?
And didn`t get the right gear ratios ???
    Just a thought.

38 litres in 90KM with a 5litre V8 and a very heavy right foot is probably OK. It's only a little over double city cycle economy and I'll bet my left n*t that it ain't being driven by Grandma.

i thought that as well so there is no leak and i did change the diff but i found out that it was 3.08 gear ratios everything semms to be running fine a little hooning around but not enough doto do that could the oetrol pump be dodgy

If the petrol pump was dodgy you would use LESS fuel. You are feeding 5 litres of Detroit iron which will drink about 50% more fuel than a V6 driven with a heavy foot. In the old language you are talking about 8 to 10 miles to the gallon. My old Jag would get 14 MPG but that was a heavy 6 with twin SU jugs driven sedately.
With a V8 if you want to feel the power you pay with fuel. Enjoy it - I'd love a V8.
