hey guys
ok i have a knock in my front end that is really loud and fast doof doof doof doof when i turn right. it does it when i turn left but not as loud. The noise starts at around 50kph and gets worse the faster you go. This is what i have changed on my car and the knock is still there.
*Brand new tyres and rims.
*Brand new springs all round.
*Brand new strut bearings.
*Brand new wheel bearings.
*Brand new rear strut bushes.
*Brand new front sway bar link pins.
Ive had the whole car inspected including brakes, diff, tailshaft,uv joints, engine mounts and no one can find anything.
This knock is really really annoying and i need to get rid of it.
IF ANYONE has ANY theories as to what it may be
PLEASE HELP me
cheers guys
i dont know possibly steering rack or front bushes?
Loose steering rack ends, or the rack itself, shot radius rod (Z bar) bushes, engine mount sheared/soft, subframe bolts loose. I'd try to isolate it - what happens if you touch the brakes when turning...does it do it accelerating/decellerating or coasting when turning - any feedback thru the steering wheel.
auto or manual ??? any other mods to the car from std ???
nah the noise never goes away. if you brake its still there. it happends when i turn. alot more noticable when i turn right but still does it when i turn left. The car is an auto. its got exhuast, cold air intake,k&n filter 8mm leads bellmouth off thats about it.
ok are your engine mounts and auto mount in good condition and not twisting too much under load ??? can you stall the car up without the noise happening . seen afew engine that look ok but are soft as hell and stretched to the max allowing the exhaust flanges to hit the under body or the engine mount riding into the crossmember
yes i can stall it up without having the noise. I dont think its something hitting against something it sounds like a bearing knock if you know what i mean. im pretty sure its not something hitting against something. Hopefully that rules out a few things..
Have u tried jacking up the back of the car, starting the car and going through the gears?Just make sure u support the car.It might be something like a bent axle
but if it was a bent axle wouldnt it do it when i drive straight aswell. it only does it when i turn and it comes from the front of the car..
