96 vs/lexcen

Just looking into doing a 2jz engine conversion and wanted to know if the vs is front or rear sump on the engine? just found out that there r 2 different types of 2jzs. 1 from the supra (rear sump) and one from the aristto (front sump) and something like 2k difference for half-cut prices too.
