!!how to tell if my ball joint is stuffed??HELP

just wondering if theres a way i can check if my ball joint is stuffed?

jack up the front wheels and shake the wheels and check for move ment in the ball joints.

buy new ones anyway coz they are $30 off ebay? hehe

jack the vehicle and allow the suspension to unload using a pry bar or similar place it between the lower arm and strut base and move up and down watching for movement in the ball joint . being a fricton type ball joint a small amount of movement is normal 1-2mm any more and the ball joint is stuffed .
