Hi all.
I want to clean the throttle body on my V8... have done a search on the forum but seem to keep finding people who have killed their TPS etc while doing it.
Has anyone done a how to or similar on cleaning the throttle body without killing sensors?
I bought a can of Nulon TB & carby cleaner, so just need some instructions![]()
i was reading a instrustion in street commodres and he was saying that u should use some sandpaper 1200 wet on it i can try finding it for ya
sanding sounds a bit harsh lol. This nulon cleaner is supposed to be the bees knees... just that on a few posts I read people seemed to have killed their TPS or another sensor (can't remember which one now) by drowning them in cleaning solvent... so I really just wanna know whether to spray this stuff on a rag and wipe it down or should I remove the TB and sensors etc (which I'm not real keen on doing coz knowing my luck I'll break something lol). I had a look in the TB this arvo when I was changing the air filter and there's a nice thick black ring of gunge right round the butterfly so a good clean would do it the world of good I think!
bro i just spoke to my cousin his a mechanic he said just spray and wipe it dont worry about tps there is no problem with doing it and also using the same reply in ur other thread u where talking about ur spark plug thingy pulll the whole lead off make the end that goes onto the spark pug tighter and the end of the lead that goes into the dizzy loosen it so it hugs the connector in the dizzy
Thanks lebo... will do the spray and wipe thing at some stage tomorrow. Say a big thanks to ur cuzz too
Will check the leads on the car... which means taking the dizzy cap out AGAIN... what fun (not).
