    Default air intake.

    Just seeking some opinions...

Currently my V6 has the stock airbox, however it is missing the the part that attaches to the front of the airbox gets air from behind the headlight.

Would I be better off finding a stock replacement, getting a s/c v6 cai from holden or just leaving it as it is?

performance doesn't really bother me, I am more concerned with fuel economy and the general running of the engine (in terms of the amount of hot vs cold air coming into the manifold.

    Cheers.

Check out the posts in the Mace Cold Air Intake thread under Mace Engineering in the sponsors section...interesting aspect of heatsoak from an OTR set up.

Just cut the front off the bottom of the airbox where the snorkel goes. Strong plastic so won't bend without that piece as long as you leave the lip where the clips go and will perform 100 times better then the s/c cai. Plus if it's really cold you can even hear it whistle under throttle. For a quick job why wouldn't you do it.

Run a piece of flexible tubing from the box to the grill somewhere. It will let in a lot more air.
