dash and window problem ???

ok was just cleaning the inside of my car and i notice my dash were it lights up with the km's and all the other crap wont display but there is a light and the electric windows wont work what could this be ????

ok now when i turn the key so the dash lights up the heater blows out air then turns off
same when i turn the key to start the car

ok more problems the fuel water and speed light stay on

battery is new i had it unplugged over night and still nothing

what eles does the dash cluster connect to ?

It sounds like a bad connection at the back of the dash where it plugs in to the sockets.Maybe try undoing the dash surround,undo the two screws that hold the actual cluster in,then remove it and check everything,then replace it and try it then.It should only take 10 minutes to do.As I said it might just be a bad connection.

when's the last time you had the key fob (the bit with buttons) replaced?

well i have 2 keys one new one old im still using the older key and using nnew as a spare

try the new one. know it sounds silly but hey, it'll only take a sec

failing this, try cleaning the metal strips around the ignition barrel, as in wipe 'em till there's no cleaning agent residue.

actually, you said the battery is new, why is this? are you sure the battery is charged? can you check it with a multimeter? is your alternator charging right?

yer alternator and battery were changed at the same time

ok just work it out my little bro was cleaning the car and he read about the paperclip trick and the moron connected earth with the battery pin he said there was a big spark so can anyone help with what the problem could be ??????
