VR/VS Trans different?

hey, i did a search but couldnt find anything,

do VR/VS have different transmissions?
or are they the same.

if they are different is it possible to put a VS Trans in a VR?

a friend needs a trans for their VR and i have one but it came from a VS ecotec
would just like to know if it would work or can easily be done. otherewise just buy one.

The plug is different - VS has 13 pins and VR 12 pins.....this can be overcome but I'm not sure how...has been covered many times before so vary your search wording. Apart from this they are the same (I'm 99% sure!)

thanks mate, still cant seem to navigate that search option, comes up with other crap.
if anyone knows how to modify the wiring that would be great.
