Default getting more torque off the line in an ecotec?

what would the best suited mod for this be besides dif gears? ive done a bit of reading and it looks like perhaps new roller rockers or a cam ( either of which i know bugger all about ) , so which is cheaper and which gives the best low end torque result , extra KW is nice aswell.

If you after torque from a ecotec, then I would say you would need to be looking into a CAM.

Rockers are great as they give a little bit extra all through the rpm range, but if you want big torque down low (without having to add 2 cylinders) a cam would be the best way to acheive that.

    Then gears. That's my opinion.

I'm I'm assuming you've already done the CAI and a full exhaust before looking at rockers or a cam right?

Do the diff gears. I wouldn't bother camming an ectotec. You're better off either putting the money towards a turbo/supercharger or a V8.....

I'm saying the Ford 6 is better than the Holden 6. If you want low-end torque and a better all-round motor, it's something to think about.

+1, but holdens are still cool as.

Id go diff gears champ, 3.7 really doesnt change the fuel consumption that much and if you want a little better just go for the 3.4. Deffinatly gives you a big punch off the lines, im sure everyone with it done will tell you the same thing. Second best would have to be roller rockers. Mace engineering sell 1.98 ratio rockers i think they are an they made a massive difference when i had an NA. Or if you really want torque, supercharge!

Their 4.0L V6's definitely are not very quick until the BA's which are quick indeed in comparison to our ecotecs and buicks =[

    lol V6 ford falcon

ive just grabbed an EB Fairlane Ghia and i have to say they are far more refined than my last VR Acclaim.

but on the talk or torque, maybe look into an injector upgrade. not in 'cc' but injector type. for performance the falcon i6 injectors will get it running better. they have a better spray pattern and they will go straight in since its all bosch. Dr. Rob drag racer will back me up on this one.

I just dont like "F's" because they are a straight 6, they may be torquey, but prefer my good ol' dunnydore.

Its allll personal preference, like blondes or brunettes
