Hello,
What is this part?
I pulled into my drive-way and saw a huge puddle of coolant under the engine. I found the source of the leak and it was coming from this part. What's it called?
Thanks,
My car audio:
CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms
Not a 100% but it looks to be part of your heater core?
To be honest i havn't seen something like that before, I would suggest getting under your car and seeing what's missing... and take another pic...
water pump
I'd say it's the "heater tap", which controls the coolant flow to/from the heater core.
+2 for heater tap.
I like my roo well done

+2 its the heater tap for sure
heater taps breaking are pretty common. Do a search for 'heater tap' because there are lots of guides explaining how to replace them. I paid about 40 bucks for a new one from holden and fixed it about 30 minutes with no experience at all.
+10 Heater tap
That's the worst looking heater tap corrosion I have ever seen (maybe I lead a sheltered life). Suggest you start running proper coolant instead of water or cheap coolant (which is mostly just coloured water with a little inhibitor thrown in).
