    Default Cracked taillights on boot

Anyone have a problem with the taillights on the bootlid developing small cracks in them over time? I've replaced mine before, and this next set seems to be doing the same thing. Its a very annoying problem and I don't know what causes it. Am I closing the bootlid too hard?

I put a small crack in one of mine by dragging a suitcase out sideways....also gone very close to doing this again when dragging bags of manure/chookfeed etc out. Maybe it would be possible to grind the sharp edge away with a Dremel or even cover the edge with duct tape of fashion a cover to stop things bashing it.
As you suggest, it may also be to do with the bootlid hitting the top edge of the lamp.....maybe you could put some masking tape over top edge of lamp and then rub a pencil on bootlid lip then shut the boot - if it contacts it will leave a witness mark...then adjust the stops (mine are going hard and knobbly)

I'd have thought it's just the plastic ageing, becoming more brittle and cracking. UV exposure won't be helping either.

Plastic doesn't last forever, it's just how it is.

yeah but its only the lights on the boot, not the ones on the outside. theyre not faded either. so i figured its something to do with the boot itself

I misread your initial post - thought they were the outside one....anyway, only thing I can think of is whether they are genuine units as I've seen some of the Chinese copies fade and crack on the surface within 12 months.
