Hey guys, I'm haveing problem with my VR ute at the moment, The other day my ute started having problems while running on gas. It ran fine last week when i drove to newcastle and back (1600Kms). I can start it on gas, but 5 seconds later it will just stall, unless i give it a little accelerater a little, doesn't matter if its hot or cold, it also backfire through the exhaust if i am driving and take my foot off the accelerater. However if i run it on unleaded it runs like a champion, no backfires, no idle problems. I've reset the ECU, changed the plugs, all the filters, so its got me stumped...
So what do you think the problem could be?
Thanks in Advance

have you tried replacing the ignition leads?
you could also try cleaning the air intake where the gas goes in.. I had a similar problem a while back with a van on gas.. took the gas intake pipe off sprayed some WD-40 down it to clean it and it ran a treat after that.
This was once i had replaced every serviceable item, New leads and plugs made a difference to.
could be all these things:
- blocked LPG filter
- no power to the LPG cut off valve
- blown fuse check the fuse under the carpet on the passenger side, it runs power to the lpg computer.
cheers
Ok, Cleaned the Trottle body and gas ring, bolted it all back together, it still has the problem...
So my next question is am I able to change to lpg filter or do I have to take it to a gas shop???

you could try turning the gas flow up a little. maybe its just not quite getting enough.
you might be better off just driving it down to the lpg guy for a quick tuneup diagnose, as if you do this incorrectly can let lpg leak causing engine fire. so not a good idea for newbies.
ok, off the the lpg guy it is. engine fire is really not what i want... thanks for all the input guys
