    Default my first car. advice?

i baught a car about 3 months ago. its a vs commodore series 1. i got it pretty cheap($600). i does need a bit of work, couple of dints and stuff. but it runs pretty good.the only problem is its at 300,000km's. i want to get it painted (proberbly black) and get a good looking bodykit if i can find one(suggestions?) and maybe replace the seats, change the indicator to clear. oh and ive gotta get the roof relined. and a nice set of wheels.(suggestions again? )

ive got time to do all this, about a year. and i wont be doing any engine mods because i will be on my red p's

im just looking for suggestions and to see if its worth doing all this stuff.
    thanks =D

As long as it runs well, wouldnt worry muh about the KM's , just means more parts will need replacing sooner
How bad / Good is your current paint job ? If your going for a bodykit, dont go over the top, infact just slam it on its arse, and forget the body kit

Please do not change any of the lights to clear, they look homos :P
    Slammed on some 18s yummy

thanks for your reply i will get it down to a mechanic soon just to check it out. it needs a new paintjob, there are 3-4 small dints and 1 pretty decent one. oh and the boot is peeling. i only plan on changing the indicators to clear because the series 1 VS has big ugly orange square ones

i think im just going to go with something like this

Km's are just a number. Any car over time needs to have just about the same parts replaced guaranteed. Look after it and replace those parts and some day someone might see it clock over 600 thousand.

Just leave it std height mate..you don't need to slam it, all you will achieve is a canary..As for wheels try pricing tyres before you buy 18's or 19's etc.. (tyres are bloody expensive)

Limit the kit mate, a nics SS skirt kit with S pack bobtail. Clear indicators on the side and the rear as well. Keep it simple and clean is a good strategy.
As for rims, personal preference. On black cars, a lot of people have black with chrome lip or full chrome rims.

    My 2c anyway

Slamming it, dosent mean under legal height.. That SS kit would look pretty decent, when you said u wanted a kit, i thought about those big ugly ones lol.

    I got a canary today

About lowering it, I'd probably go super lows. Not too high, but sits nicely once settled. As for body kit, I wanted one for my vn when i first got it but the more I looked at the standard kit the more I liked it, so I would wait a while before getting a kit and if you do, get something like an ss kit or something thats not over the top.

Chrome trim is pretty pricey nowadays. It's close to $600 for the complete window surround set (well, was when I last checked). Bumper strips aren't that bad, don't know how hard it is to find them.

Paint jobs don't come cheap, also if u get a body kits it gonna need to be painted as well. 17's or 18's will look good on your car but remember the cost of tyres.
As for the tail lights, go for it i reckon they look good.

18s arnt that pricey comared to 19s cuase all the falcon alloys and most of the commodore alloys are that size dont go over the top but. check the ''http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vr-vs/9258-post-pictures-your-vr-vs-here.html'' for ideas theres some over done ones in there.
