    Default VR running weird

    Hey Guys,

Ok here's the story. My dads VR Wagon wasn't kicking over for a bit and turned out to be the fuel pump which I have since replaced. It is now kicking over and running, But if you don't put your foot about half way down it just goes to Stall. Also changing from P to R then from N to D there is a massive clunk. I think they are 2 totally different problems. I think the clunking is due to lose gearbox mounts and the reving / stall maybe the Harmonic Balancer. Also seems to be idling slightly higher.

    Cheers

hey mate, sounds like your 'clunking' problem would be your uni's in your tail shaft. for your stalling issue check your fuel filter and ignition system maybe? good luck

I am sure reving the engine would not be helping, not wise to change gears while reving...
Seen a few blown diffs from people doing that

I would of also changed the fuel filter and used some good fuel injector cleaner or get them cleaned...

No I didn't mean like revving in Park, but putting my foot down in drive as to move the car. Will Change the fuel filter and see how we go. Would make sense seeing as though the fuel pump went, so there is probably some crap in the filter as well.

What you did when you replaced the internal pump, was put a split in the return hose that goes to a pool in the tank. When going around a long bend(turning right) or putting your foot down, the hose sucks air in(if the tank is under 1/2 full) and you get no response at all!!!
****ed I know!! I went to attach the hose inside the tank and split it more! Pain in the ass to do, as no room to move, in that lil' f'n hole! i pulled the hose off from the inside and......... time to replace the tank!!!!! YOU CAN' PUT IT BACK ON!!!!!
