Default L67,turbo or just save my money?

Ok well ive been thinking about what to do next with my car and was just wondering what you guys would think would be the better option out of the 3. I have saved up enough money so i was looking at the proflow turbo kits which they have advertised for $5500 on their website, but i was also thinking of going with an L67 transplant as those engines can have some potential in the long run with a few upgrades. so what are every ones opinions about those 2 options, im leaning towards the turbo option to be a bit different. Or am i better off just to keep saving my money for things other than my car, oh and im only a 2nd year apprentice on about $500 a week.

You probably should have about $10,000 saved for the turbo route to include tuning, things that break, etc etc.

just do an l67 swap dude, cost me $3000 installed, add a 11PSI pulley, rockers, zorst and induction and your looking at about $5000 and definitely worth the gamble too. Add a bit more for a good tune an your on your way. Youll be kicking ricers then!

just after a quick reply but what was actually needed for the full conversion? eg, motor obviously, engine wiring harness. would it be easier finding a wreck or getting everything individually?

I WAS going to find everything individually but its just so much easier and cheaper getting a full conversion. Most wreckers rip the motors out an sell them as a 'complete conversion' because there in such high demand. You will rarely see a wrecked holden with a l67 still sitting in it. Depending on where you are, they usually go for about $2000-$3500. Youll come across a couple on ebay. Dont qoute me on this but im pretty sure all you need is the engine, BCM, wiring loom an computer. Look for a local wrecker, ask them how much, then ask them to get someone to put it in for you, cost me $2500 for a 82,000km engine and $600 installed. I got back $500 for my old engine. Unless of course you wanna put it in yourself.
