hi guys i have a 1996 vs series 2 acclaim its automatic
it has impco lpg system
2.5inch catback straight through
cold air intake
ngk spark plugs
and i fill it up with premium fuel
my problem is that i want to do standstills but it wont rev any higher than 3000 rpm
while my mate has same car and it rips them we both have irs.
any help would be appreciated.
Your mates car might be in better nick than yours mechanically. It comes down to how it was serviced etc earlier on in its life.If your mates doesn't have gas then his is going to be lighter at the rear end for starters.Gas tank, fittings etc it all ads up to more weight over the back wheels which means better traction, which is not what you want if pulling burnouts is your thing.
yer that makes sense.
my car has only done 154000 kms and has complete service history.
but yer i have 75 litre gas tank and a 12 inch sub but i also have bald stockies on the back and still wont do it.
i flick it on petrol for power.
The timing for gas a petrol is different, you should see a second timing mark that is tuned to run on gas. It's a compromise because of the diiference in octanes.
awesome thread
IRS + V6 is no good for burnouts. End of story. Even if you can manage a first gear single pegger (which you should be embarrassed about) you won't be able to pull 2nd, so your burnout will still be a fail.
Even stock 5Ls usually struggle to pull 2nd with IRS, while some can hit 3rd in live axle Commodores (my old 5L was an example of this but that wasn't quite stock)
So! If you want to do better burnouts, go FI, or get another car.
