Your mates car might be in better nick than yours mechanically. It comes down to how it was serviced etc earlier on in its life.If your mates doesn't have gas then his is going to be lighter at the rear end for starters.Gas tank, fittings etc it all ads up to more weight over the back wheels which means better traction, which is not what you want if pulling burnouts is your thing.

The timing for gas a petrol is different, you should see a second timing mark that is tuned to run on gas. It's a compromise because of the diiference in octanes.

IRS + V6 is no good for burnouts. End of story. Even if you can manage a first gear single pegger (which you should be embarrassed about) you won't be able to pull 2nd, so your burnout will still be a fail.

Even stock 5Ls usually struggle to pull 2nd with IRS, while some can hit 3rd in live axle Commodores (my old 5L was an example of this but that wasn't quite stock)

So! If you want to do better burnouts, go FI, or get another car.
