Hey guys, im after some pics of VRs with Ultra lows in the rear. Ive got Super lows in mine at the moment, but i want to drop it another 30mm.

Also, i went into pedders today, and they tried to sell me this story. When i asked them about going 20mm-30mm lower in the rear they started going on about some bull**** where VR/VS's cant physically go lower then what my height is due to a hole needing to be cut in the boot for the diff, and massive guard rolling, possibly tubs, and springs not trapping even with shortened shocks.
Is there even an ounce of credibility in this information? lol
LMFAO!! that guy who told u that was smokin it up by the sounds of it man
Get under it and have a measure, then you'll know for yourself. I'm sure they would want your money if it was at all possible.
The guy didnt even measure it. He just looked at it from 25m away and said, Yeah.... Nah not a chance in hell.
Have a look at my ride pics. I've got ultras sitting on 18icnh rims.
Tom - when I transported my old VR from my parents house to where I was living to fix it up for sale, it had NO springs, or shocks in the rear. Diff wasn't touching the chassis/floorpan, it made hard work getting on the trailer, but nah, not close to diff vs floorpan.
Mate that is bang on what im after. How do you find driving with a full car load, scrubbing, and springs staying trapped?
Well.. WHEN I had the car it was on compressed superlows, sitting on bumpstops. When driving it was bumpy as all shit, never took it out with a full carload, probably because I dont have that many friends. I never scrubbed, I had 15" ceptas. I had put cable ties around the springs to spring housing - looking back it was bloody stupid, but cause I had shortened shocks, there was never an issue with the springs falling out, only when I jacked up the rear they'd come a little loose
Thats how it went up the trailer
Thats sitting there with compressed superlows im sure it was
this is how mine sat with ultralows and also with the upper spring insulators removed, the diff was real close to the bumpstops and and i think the springs were rattling abit cause they were touching metal. it looked good though lol.

MY VS - http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...executive.html
You have a pussy, i have a dick, so whats the problem? Lets do it quick!!
Not trying to be rude here, but how did your diff sit near the bumpstops? Bumpstops aren't near the diff (in the comparison of height)
that was the best pic i got when i had the insulators removed
why do you want to make it even lower mate? it sits well nice as it is! Ive got my ute on pedders ultra low and its just a bit to low sometimes.. doesnt rub on the wheels at all but speed bumps etc can be a pain i was thinking about swapping them for something a little higher..
The story that guy was tellin you is a load of crap, he's just after the $$$
Ultra-lows should go on just fine and look sick
g'day mate. I originally has superlows all round in mine cause i thought ultras would be too low. Long story short, superlows were waaay too high for my liking, so put some ultras in all round. Sits pretty good at front. Maybe 10mm gap between tyre and guard. Standard ultra lows in the rear are about 20-30mm between top of tyre and guard. I still wasnt happy. So i knocked about 1 & a half coils off. Now tucks half the tyre, on my 19's. Looks sweet. Ive got shortened koni adjustable shocks , which when the back is jacked up the springs still just hold in and dont fall out. Never ever had any troubles with springs falling out or any of that.
I've also taken my rear springs completely out and lowered the jack. Like that it tucks all tyre and guard is basically just sitting on top of the rim. The bumpstops are stopping it from going further, But its less than 10mm before the tyre would hit up under the wheel arch without springs in. Ie; would not want to drive around at that height.
Rolling your guards in the rear is a must is you want it fairly low. Tyres just hit and scrape on the edge of inner guard otherwise. Highly recommend getting them rolled.
As for Pedders they are a bunch of brainless morons. They usually have no idea about seriously lowering a car, and usually do anything they can to stooge you into giving them money... though i am supprised they didnt try to get more out of u when you can u wanted it lower..
Haha you sir are a douche. They go about their business in a way that will be most reputable for them. You cut springs. I know who I would go for if I was in a position needing advice about suspension, and it definently wouldn't be you.
Tom, I would go to another Pedders, or try and find another suspension workshop that can help you out.
only morons cut suspension springs!
You cut a coil off and they wont seat correct, and just wont perform as they were designed to do, not to mention its illegal and will easily get you defected.
Measure how much lower you want it, then take them to get compressedDO NOT cut your springs

I dont know where to get them done in other states but in victoria "the suspension centre" do it....
pedders are one of the most expensive places to get suspension work done.
and they often quote things that are not necessarily needed.
but anyway. if you want it lower. go to your local auto store. ask for some ultra low king springs for a solid axle. read up in the how to on how to get them in and you should be happy.
