newer engine into a VR?

legal, yes. there isnt any problem with putting newer engines in older cars, just not the other way around. Its the cost that gets most people, you cant just drop these engines in and expect it to be that easy. Its all the little components and nuts and bolts that make it difficult, also things like wiring looms and plugs.

A gen 3 conversion for example would cost you around 10k. Bit pointless in a VR/VS considering you can get an almost identical car with a gen 3 already in it with a series 2 VT, and you'll be saving a lot of money this way too.

Doing a sidi conversion into an older car would be a nightmare with the amount of technology and fiddly things in those.
