    Default T5 Heat

    Hey All,

Just a quick one, those of you with T5's, how much heat to you get coming up into the cabin.

My shift boot, shifter surround, and up to the headunit, all get quite hot.

Anyone else experience this much heat?

    Cheers,

    Brendan

Both my cars do it. However i thought it was because of the 5L (since they retain their heat)

Have you got the metal plate and all the boots fitted?

metal plate is there, but rubber boot isn't because of the billet shifter, (gotta move plate over), but it was still getting hot when the boot was there.

the boot is torn about half way around though, keeping my eyes open for another one.

i couldnt get my rubber boot to fit once the billet shifter went on. seems to be a problem for a few people. i gotta work it out why some can get it on but others cant. do any of you guys have the problem with the gearbox not sitting in the centre of the round hole?

that rubber boot that goes over the hole makes a massive difference to the amount of heat and road noise that comes through

yeah mine are alright. took them out, checked them, back in, same problem. it sits to the drivers side. the billet shifter pushes up against the metal ring that holds the boot on

yeah billet shifter is about 3mm from the metal plate. i'm just gunna move the plate over enough to get it to work. but i think the drivers side engine mount has sagged, so i'll fix that too.
