I decided it would be nice to drive into someones towbar today and now theres a small hole in my radiator. The hole is big enough that the water sprinkles out but its not pouring out.
I left my car at work and pretty much want to know if theres a temporary fix just so i can get it back home. Its gonna be about a 20min drive and ill be on the ringroad for about 90% of the trip.
also on the topic of radiators how hard is it to replace the radiator with a new one? and is it worth getting an aluminium one.
thanks guys
Im Not sure but i remember watching a outback show and you could put a egg in the radiator and it will seal it lol If ya stuck in the middle of no where guess you will try anything lol
Depends how much water it's pushing out, but for 20mins drive id just get a new one and swap it over on the spot.
It just unbolts take off the 2 hoses and your 2 hoses for the transmission if it's an auto and out with the old one and slot in the new one, just fill with water if you have to till you get it home and let it cool down and flush it out and put new coolant in and top up with trans fluid.
You can bend the ends of the busted tubes over by locating the split tubes and bending fins out of the way then bend the tubes over wiith long neck pliers - the radiator is a series of tubed with fins attached and the tubes are connected to the header tanks - only a temporary fix.
