Default Statesmen front end onto Acclaim.

I was just wondering, if you replaced a VS Acclaim's bonnet and bumper with a Statesmen one, would it actually work or is there actually some modifications needed doing?

Has it really been done before? I would like to see this and see what needs doing.
Or would engineering the front of the bonnet and grill be easier/cheaper?

If there is modifications needed they would be pretty minimal. I saw a VS Calais with a Statesman front end on it, looked ok. You would need to change the blinkers to parking lights and then wire up the blinkers in the Statesman bumper. Electrically, that is all you would need to do, as for physically, I really don't think there would be too much needed other than the bumper and bonnet as you said!

all the panels fit straight on all i had to do was bend the bottom headlight brackets in abit for them to fit,

Also need the front guards. Then just bolt it all on.
