VS Statesman 5L Diff problems.

hey guys,

Just got my Statesman HSV Enhanced 5L.
I noticed it's only spinning one wheel.
I had a look under the car and the Rario is 3:08's so i'm pretty sure that's LSD.
What goes wrong with these diffs and what will need replacing.
before anyone goes off the rail, This was at a local burnout comp.

hey if it is a lsd it would be a warn cone it could simply need machining then adding some shims should fix it but if its like my cone it got worn to much and i have to buy a lsd rebuild kit for 500

First you need to make sure you have an LSD. Go under the car again and check if the identification looks like the sample below:

has no ID label or anything near the oil filler hole.
Has one tag that has 2 serial numbers and the ratio on it hanging off the passanger side of the diff.

If its LSD it will have the tags with the warnings about only using the specified oil etc.And you can get 3.08 ratio in LSD or single wheeler.

jack it up, spin the wheels, if they spin the same way its a lsd if not then its open center...
