    Default vs auto problems

Hi everyone, 1st post on here been reading thru stuff every now and then seems to be a good helpful forum from what i can see.

Ive recently changed over engine and auto (6hdd) in my 95 vs acclaim, with a recently reco'd ecotec and another 6hdd auto. engines running fine, but the auto box just doesnt want to play nice.

im getting the engine light and battery light (alternators working, 14.4v at battery) permantly on while cars running, i get a heap of trans fault codes coming up when i check for them, 24, 67, 57 etc etc (cant remember all of them at moment) ive no 1st gear, but have 2nd and 3rd. i know 24 is the vss, but ive got speed signal when i drive the car so thats odd. the main gearbox plug seems to be plugged in right (mate did that plug and rechecked and re did it)
the fuse under dash for the auto controls hasnt blown, i cant find a fuse in the engine bay for the auto.

im kind of stumped as to what could be wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

As the car is in "limp home mode" you'll need to wipe all the old codes then redo the fault code check ......you may find you then only have one code.
Are you 100% sure the new auto was in good condition?
    And welcome to the forum.

well, i was told it was an ac delco rebuilt one gotton when the engine was rebuilt, and it did have the ac delco sticker on the side.
i cleared the codes and did another check.
    24, 59, 67, 73, 82 were the codes ive still got.

i find it quite wierd that the battery light is staying on. what things cause it to stay on?

Stupid question I know, but if you have a '95 Acclaim, why did it have a 6hdd trans....it should have a 5hddd trans.
Something to check - is the engine properly earthed to the chassis/body as you seem to have a lot of weird electrical problems.

yeah i know hako wierd i know..... but i double checked my eyes when i had the old one out of car, it is stamped 6hdd. my car is a dec 1995 so maybe they shoved a 6 in it.
well i should hope the engines earthed properly, its got 4ga cable from 3 places to the chassis.

@brett_jjj battery off for 10odd mins.

@ bt1-355, which fuse and where?

Next thing to replace is the ECU......at least they are cheap.

Edit.....also check the ECU has a good earth....add a new one if necessary.

One of the problems i have sorted, the battery ligh no longer is on.

The little positive wire with the clip running to the battery from the reg had an internal break in it so i soldered a new bit of wire to the clip and bam no more battery light.

now its just purely the trans problem....
