I have had my Ecotec rebuilt by an engine builder, with performance mods, but its virtually the same. What do you need to know?

Well if your gonna do a rebuild, might aswell rebuild it with a c.o.m.e. stroker kit. 4.2l of goodness, considering your having to rebuild anyway its a good chance to do it.

if u were gonna rebuild it y not add a few performance mods. maybe just a slightly larger cam to help it jump ect. if u were gonna blow the money on the rebuild y not make it better than the original for only a little extra

I bought all my stuff from a store up near Brisbane but they might ship. Performance Wholesale

    Some prices, for comparison.

    # Spring and retainers $240
    # Collets $30
    # ACL Race Pistons $375.50
    # ACL Race Main bearings $74.46
    # ACL Race Conrod bearings $44.12
    # ACL Cam bearings $46.53
    # Rollmaster double row timing chain $136.20
    # ARP Head stud kit is $182.52
    # ARP Main Stud kit $105.52
    # ARP Conrod bolts $161.70
    # ACL Race full gasket set $380

You probably won't need to go studs if your not intending to chase power, good insurance, but up to you. Also don't forget you may need other stuff, engine mounts, harmonic balancer, coolant pipes, water pump, etc.
