VS Ecotec Computer Chip Problem

Bought a second hand 2000 model ecotec and it came with computer and an upgraded chip but it was not fitted,the bloke said it was easy to fit ,I managed to get the old one out it was very tight and the new one will not go in easy I don’t want force it as I could damage it, so is there some trick or should take it to someone to have it fitted ???

They slide in easy as, you might have had it the wrong way around (only goes one way)
