you might have a loose exhaust hanger, or the case on the shock is loose and swaying and hitting the exhaust

Possibly the rubbers in the panhard rod are shot - this is the rod that locates the back axle to the body and prevent sideways movement when cornering. Solid rear only has a panhard rod.

its probably a 90% chance that its the wheel bearing. is yours a solid axle or irs rear end? if its a solid axle it will be fairly cheap, around 50 for a set

have a look at them they could be crushed or out of shape, or the rubber could just look old. if your still not sure take some photos and put them on here. make sure the photos are decent quality though

might just do that ...if i grab the sway bar the rubbing noise vertually stops when its pushed side to side so part of me thinks that...replacing them easy job btw? looks pritty simple and stright forward..

You can buy exchange ones on Ebay or press new ones in yourself...not too hard with a bit of soap and a strong vyce.

Bushes are about $15 for urethane and stands are better than ramps as you get more room to swing a spanner - this reduces the amount of blood and swearing. There may be a how-to as I've seen it written up a few times.
Before doing this I'd jack the side up that is making the noise and try and move the wheel up/down, sideways and rotate and see if there is any play or roughness which may point towards the bearing although when suspension parts go metal to metal they sound rough as.

id say go with nolathane, but im a bit biased towards them coz i sell their products. id go stands, because that way you can turn wheels and have more room to move

use the trolley jack under the diff to get it up in the air and then wack the stands in. saves having to jack each side up individually
