Hey guyz,
The odometer/trip meter on my 1995 (series 1) V6 T5 manual VS commodore stopped working the other night and im not sure what it is or how to fix it?
Do i need a new cable or something? How much will it cost me?
Thanks![]()
There is a little cog in the instrument cluster that becomes brittle with age and strips its teeth. You can replace it easily enough yourself in about half an hour. There is a how-to on here, try the search function.
A bang on the dash can sometimes get them going if they are stuck from dust etc.My trip meter sometimes stops and needs a thump to get it going.

i found the How-to. Where can i get the cogs from and how much? ive been told $11 new from Auto Electricans. Does Holden Spare Parts stock the cogs?
Do a search on Ebay - there is a bloke on there that always carries them...about $15 or less.
